Background & Rationale:
Ethnic minority groups and rural communities are often among the most marginalized members of society. Traditionally, they have led simple lives by farming in remote highland areas, far from urban development, with limited access to education and other development opportunities. As agriculture is the primary occupation for most people in these communities, their quality of life generally lags behind that of the wider population.
In today's rapidly changing world, while greater development has brought increased convenience, it has also created new challenges. People must adapt from a simple way of life to one that is increasingly competitive and stressful. However, because these communities have fewer opportunities, they are at a disadvantage compared with more developed groups.
Recognizing the importance of education and the well-being of the students and community of Phee Pan Nuea School, Ohkajhu launched this project to help improve living conditions in the community. Profits generated from the sale of T-shirts and premium merchandise were used to support activities including providing meals, donating clothing and dining utensils, organizing community activities, and constructing a school building for the Phee Pan Nuea community.
Objectives:
- To provide the Phee Pan Nuea community with access to educational facilities.
- To improve quality of life.
