Background & Rationale:
Ethnic minority groups and rural communities are often among the most marginalized members of society. Traditionally, they have relied on agriculture in remote highland areas and have had limited access to education and development opportunities, resulting in a lower quality of life than the wider population.
As society changes rapidly, these communities face increasing challenges in adapting to a more competitive environment while remaining at a disadvantage due to limited opportunities. Recognizing the importance of education and community well-being, Ohkajhu initiated this project to support the students and community of Phee Pan Nuea School. Revenue generated from customers participating in the annual vegetarian festival campaign was used to fund activities including providing meals, donating clothing and dining utensils, organizing community activities, and constructing a school building.
