Background & Rationale:
Many farmers in Thailand continue to face the challenge of high production costs and low crop prices, which can sometimes result in financial losses. Recognizing the importance of supporting local farmers, Ohkajhu's organic farming initiative introduced the cultivation of organic purple corn, allowing farmers to dedicate part of their rice-growing land to this high-value crop.
Purple corn is cultivated using organic farming practices without chemical inputs. Although it requires close care and management, it can be sold at a higher price, helping farmers increase their income while providing a safer working environment. Through this initiative, Ohkajhu partners with farmers who are willing to transition part of their farmland to organic purple corn production, delivering healthier products to customers while improving farmers' livelihoods and supporting their families.
Ohkajhu aims to expand organic purple corn cultivation to more than 300 rai, enabling the company to provide high-quality produce to even more customers while promoting sustainable agriculture.
Purchase from local farmers at the following prices: Grade A – THB 25/kg, Grade B – THB 20/kg, and Grade C – THB 15/kg, based on production costs.
