Background & Rationale:
Wildfires are one of the major causes of rapid forest destruction and severe ecosystem imbalance. Each wildfire damages young trees and forest regeneration, reducing opportunities for long-term forest growth. In addition, wildfires contribute to air pollution and haze, negatively affecting public health. Therefore, wildfire monitoring and prevention efforts by officers from multiple sectors are essential to reducing environmental damage and protecting communities.
Objectives:
To encourage and support the morale of citizens, community leaders, volunteers, and wildfire prevention officers
To strengthen collaboration between the public and private sectors in wildfire prevention efforts
Key Targets
Wildfire prevention officers with sufficient access to essential consumer supplies
Area of Implementation
Wildfire monitoring points in Chiang Mai Province
Key Activities
Coordinate the delivery of supplies to wildfire monitoring stations in Chiang Mai Province
Arrange and coordinate product distribution for wildfire prevention officers
